Jan. 8, 2012 - PRLog -- “The Color of Color,” an exhibit with artworks by Pam Brodersen and Dorothy Wallace, will be on display in BIG ARTS Founders Gallery January 19 through February 27. An artists reception will be held 5:30 p.m. Saturday, January 21.

Pam Brodersen specializes in digital imagery and her work has appeared in national ad campaigns, billboards and magazines for clients including Kellogg’s, Hallmark and Kodak. She has won numerous local and national awards recognizing the artistic contributions and accomplishments of her decades-long career. For more info: http://www.pambrodersen.com/index.htm

Dorothy Wallace is a contemporary mosaic artist and photographer who has been active in the Sanibel art community for more than 20 years. Her concrete and glass work, Invasive Species, was recently selected for next month’s Society of American Mosaic Artists’ annual Mosaic Arts International Juried Exhibition at the Lexington Center Museum and Gallery in Lexington, Kentucky. Wallace is currently a vice president and partner at Zebis, an island information technology and audio/visual support company. For more info: http://www.dmdart.com/

“When asked to name our show, we knew immediately that “color” needed to be in the title,” said Brodersen and Wallace, speaking recently about the exhibit. “Color is a primary ingredient in our compositions, whether they are two-dimensional or three-dimensional. Both of us are guided by how the colors of our compositions interact with and play off each other, and this is ultimately defined by how a viewer sees and reacts to it.”

Founders Gallery hours are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Saturdays, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Exhibit supported by Founders Gallery Grand Patron Series Sponsor Deborah and John La Gorce.
