Jan. 7, 2012 - PRLog -- IT REALLY TAKES A VILLAGE to pull off the E BUNNY program in Las Vegas, Nevada every year.  For 22 years now, the private, volunteer group has reached out to local community in an effort to help impoverished children in the Valley.

Beyond the neon glitz of the Las Vegas Strip,  thousands of children — many homeless with families who struggle to feed them — live in temporary housing, under the most depressing conditions.

“We work with shelters and various programs throughout Las Vegas and Henderson," says coordinator and program founder Barbara Kenig. "Our goal is to find children who wouldn’t get a chance to experience the childhood joy of meeting the Easter Bunny... or receiving an Easter basket!”

Since 1990, E BUNNY has delivered more than 20,000 baskets to homeless & underprivileged children thanks to the generosity of local and national manufacturers, retailers, casinos, individuals (many anonymous) and dedicated volunteers.  Last year,  2,500+ baskets were donated.

With help from Thomas (Chicago) and Linda Lera-Randle El, and their renowned homeless advocate group Straight From The Streets, the E BUNNY caravan delivers cheer to children in some of the poorest areas in Vegas.

In addition to the traditional basket give-away, E BUNNY spent Easter morning 2011 at Sunrise Children’s Hospital. The Easter Bunny dropped off some very special baskets, and visited dozens of children confined to their beds.

Businesses across America — the likes of TY Inc., Station Casinos, Target, Nitco-FTZ, Wells Fargo Bank, Costco, Sam's Club,  Walmart, Lotus Broadcasting & Hawaiian Airlines — have helped through the years. And community organizations such as A.O.K. Acts of Kindness, Project Enable of Opportunity Village, students of the Nevada State Nursing School and Faith Lutheran Community Church have been loyal supporters. We are so very grateful for their kindness and their dedicated efforts.

Since we would like to reach as many children as possible in 2012, E BUNNY is currently gearing up to approach potential basket contributors.

If your company has a “community outreach” team, perhaps you might consider holding an Easter Basket Drive, and having employees purchase an Easter basket for one special child.
(E BUNNY does not accept cash, only pre-packaged baskets that be delivered directly to the kids.)

Be assured your company’s efforts will make a difference in the lives of children (and their families) by bringing a message of hope... and joy... and knowing others care.  All contributing companies will be thanked in a national press release, and will be named in media interviews.  Let's let these kids know VEGAS CARES!
