The merchant never had to print up any flyers, advertise in newspapers, on billboards, radio, or television in turn saving the merchant thousands of dollars in acquisition costs. The end user gets to benefit from getting a message sent directly to their phone saving them big money and there-by enhancing their overall shopping experience. Does this technology eliminate all the other forms of advertising, Absolutely Not. Wi-fi marketing just presents an alternative to your existing advertising budget with substantial savings involved. There is ZERO cost associated with sending messages by the merchant or receiving the message by the end user.

The whole premiss behind  the technology more commonly known as proximity marketing is just that. You will only receive content within the proximity of the device. These devices usually reach a distance of around 200 meters depending on walls and other obstructions of the radio signal being transmitted.
