Elephas Production Presents Cool And Collected, Art From Collectors

Jan. 6, 2012 - PRLog -- Art Ark Gallery 1035 S. 6th St. San Jose, CA—January 6, 2011— Elephas Production, a production company inspired by the love of art, brings a new paradigm to art shows. Instead of a traditional art show where an artist presents his/her artwork, Elephas delivers an art show featuring favorites from local collectors. This eclectic show features art from prestigious collectors. The show is unique in that it presents art from collectors’ point-of-view. Alternative band San Francesca and DJ Coco will be performing live.

“I am dedicated to supporting local art and promoting culture,” said Leticia Figueroa, Curator. “This is not your typical show because it showcases art that people own and are in love with.”
Prestigious local collectors whose art will be displayed include Anne Sconberg, Mark Henderson, Juan Araujo, Jennifer Ahn, Tamara Alvarado, Pedro Perez, Patricia Oliva, Cesar Medina, Al Preciado, Micheal Buschemi, David Larimore, Ray Ashley, Chris Sicat, and Kelly Sicat.

“Collecting is an art in which the process can be a life time. I am very interested in the show because each collection shows the essence of the collector as an individual a more intimate understanding of why they collect,” said Alejandro Oliva, Curator.

This show is part of Elephas’ mission to grow a love of art in its own community. Focused on local collectors, Elephas will showcase the unique tastes and viewpoints of local collectors through their art.

“I am involved in this show because I get excited about art in general. There are so many amazing people involved, and they are the people who I like to surround myself with,” said John Truong.

The show will be presented on January 6, 2012 from 7pm to 11pm at Art Ark Gallery 1035 S. 6th St., San Jose, California. A no host bar will be open throughout the show. Admission is free. Donations are encouraged.
