Author Reveals 'Truth' About JFK Assassination in Novel 'Destination Dealey' Released 48 Years Later

Everyone has heard the conspiracy theories, but no one is certain who orchestrated the most notorious murder of the 20th century. Until now. Author L.D.C. Fitzgerald has penned a novel uncovering the fictional truth about the Kennedy Assassination.

Jan. 6, 2012 - PRLog -- JFK historian L.D.C. Fitzgerald has authored “Destination Dealey: Countdown to the Kennedy Conspiracy” a fictional response to continued debate about who assassinated JFK in Dealey Plaza, Dallas. Ursa Minor Publishing released the book in the latter part of 2011, forty-eight years after the national tragedy occurred. The new novel is available in hardcover, paperback, and e-book through online booksellers in the US and worldwide.

On November 22, 1963, President John F. Kennedy was struck down by sniper bullets as he rode through Dealey Plaza in an open limousine. Did social misfit Lee Harvey Oswald assassinate the president? Or was he just a patsy? The Warren Commission concluded that Oswald acted as the lone gunman who shot JFK in Dallas. But the majority of Americans believe a broader conspiracy was responsible, and suspect a massive cover-up of the truth. “Destination Dealey: Countdown to the Kennedy Conspiracy” opens in 2013 with female inmate scientists Iggy Mikos and Sera Banks breaking out of a federal prison. In a world where KGB snipers botched the JFK assassination half a century ago, the failed attempt had disastrous consequences. Now, the US and Russia stand off in a devastating chronic war, with major cities annihilated. The nation’s capital, Washington DC, has been leveled. “Now, it’s just a wasteland of radioactive rubble.”

On the brink of Armageddon, Iggy and Sera recruit a team of outlaws to time-travel fifty years into history to prevent the bloody conflict from igniting. In 1963 Dallas, the team must thwart the conspiracy plot, and right the wrongs of the past in order to save the future.

The author chose to write a tale about the catastrophic event because of the intense scrutiny that continues to surround it. Fitzgerald notes, “Although most people alive today hadn’t been born at the time of the assassination, it remains a topic of fascination. Any mention of the JFK Assassination will inevitably spark debate—most people seem to have an opinion on what happened that day in Dealey Plaza. And, as the fiftieth anniversary looms on November 22, 2013, the dialogue will likely intensify.”

The novel’s fast-paced twists and turns culminate in a narrative of the events surrounding the assassination. Fitzgerald weaves testimony of real-life witnesses into an authentic fictional universe, ultimately revealing the true mastermind of the diabolical plot.

Striving for a credible balance, the author prepared for writing the novel by investigating numerous texts on the assassination, visiting the historic Dallas sites, and consulting with renowned experts in the field. “I wanted historical accuracy coupled with a sinister plot to satisfy both the conspiracy theorists and the lone gunman advocates alike.”
