Cincy Chic Donates $450, 200 Dresses to Kenzie's Closet

Dec. 29, 2011 - PRLog -- Cincinnati, OH — January 1, 2012– Cincy Chic, the only online publication for women in Greater Cincinnati, raised $450 and collected more than 200 dresses at its recent “Wearable Art Fashion Show” to benefit Kenzie’s Closet.

The Oakley-based non-profit organization makes high school prom dresses and related accessories available to students who can't afford them so that no young woman in Cincinnati will have to miss her prom because of family financial limitations.
Cincy Chic’s Wearable Art Fashion Show was held in July 2011, and attendees were asked to either donate $10 or a gently used dress for access into the event. Since then, the funds were tallied and dresses have been sorted and inspected. In total, $450 and more than 200 dresses will contribute to Kenzie’s Closet’s mission to aid economically disadvantaged girls from schools throughout Greater Cincinnati.

“I’m so proud of the hundreds of Cincy Chic readers who came out to show their support through cash and clothing donations,” says Cincy Chic publisher Amy Scalia. “As the founder of this online publication for women in Cincinnati, nothing makes me happier than to see local ladies lending a hand to help the next generation of women.”
