Dec. 28, 2011 - PRLog -- Author Cristine Caton, and Caton Publications, are excited to announce that the children’s picture book, “The Adventures of Cefa the Cat, Cefa Finds a Home” is now avaliable in Spanish.

Book 1, “Cefa Finds a Home”, tells the story of a Russian Blue cat named Cefa, Cefa (SEE-FA) means C for Cat.  Cefa is adopted from the animal shelter by a nice man.  The man, Drugu which means friend in Russian, takes Cefa home.   In the first book Cefa explores his new home.  He goes into all the rooms inside his new home and then Drugu takes him outside.  This is Cefa’s first experience outside and he finds himself in a very sticky situation.  Find out what happens to Cefa and who comes to his rescue.

“The Adventures of Cefa the Cat, Cefa Finds a Home” is an easy read for the young elementary student or for the parent who wants a good bedtime story for their little one.  The illustrations, completed by Judy D. Ryan and Cristine Caton, are animated, cute and very colorful.  Although this book was not designed to promote a specific lesson, parents and teachers can draw several messages from it to discuss with the children.  Caton added two pages in the back of the book that can be used as a teaching tool also.  They are game pages as well as coloring pages.

“The Adventures of Cefa the Cat, Cefa Finds a Home” was translated by Cristine with the help of the online Google translator.  Not remembering much of her college Spanish, Cristine enlisted the help of her neighbor, Haydee Sherman.  Haydee is a Cuban American who was born in Cuba but has lived in the U.S. since her teen years.  She speaks fluent Spanish and was more than willing to make the necessary corrections in the translation.  “Cefa Finds a Home”, the Spanish version, is now available on Cefa website at http://www.cefathecat.com.

This 6 part series is based on the adventures, or misadventures as some will find, of the Caton’s Russian Blue cat.  He was a very active cat with a ton of character.  He would roam around the yard and eventually found himself in various situations.  It was fun to watch as he tried to decide just how he was going to find a way out.  Cristine used these situations as the basis of her stories.  The picture on the back cover is of the Caton’s Russian Blue cat.
