Jan. 1, 2012 - PRLog -- Middletown, Va.—Lord Fairfax Community College (LFCC) Office of Workforce Solutions kicks off the New Year by hosting a Career Changer Open House for individuals who are unemployed, under-employed or employed but seeking new career opportunities. The event will be held on Thursday, January 5th from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. or 5:00 p.m.-6:30 p.m. at the school’s Middletown Campus located at 173 Skirmisher Lane in Middletown, Virginia. In case of inclement weather, the event will be held on January 10, 2012 (same times/opportunities).

Career Changer Programs are accelerated training classes which earn participants skills and credentials for jobs in high-demand industries. The sessions will provide information on four Career Changer Programs: Certified Medical Administrative Assistant, Electrical Groundsman, Green Industrial Maintenance Technician, and Wastewater Treatment Operator. Grants are available for those who qualify. Specialists will be onsite to assist.
Free workshops will be held in between the two sessions offering tips and techniques on resume writing, employment, marketing yourself and finding the hidden job market.
