Paul Camarinha Achieves Significant Milestone as Toastmaster

Dec. 28, 2011 - PRLog -- Toastmasters International announced today that Paul Camarinha has achieved Competent Communicator.

“Becoming a Competent Communicator is a great achievement in public speaking,” said Pamela Winter, DTM, Toastmasters Lieutenant Governor of Education and Training, for metro New Jersey, Staten Island, and Rockland County, New York. Lisa Pantano, DTM, Toastmasters District 83 Governor stated, “It requires a certain level of mastery of both communication and leadership skills. Paul can really be proud of this accomplishment.”

After completing the ten Competent Communication projects, a member is entitled to the Competent Communicator award, and may add the post-nominal CC to their name for Toastmasters purposes. After achieving their CC, the Toastmaster then can go on to more advanced projects. There are 15 advanced manuals in the Toastmasters program, each consisting of five projects. These include projects on sales presentations, speaking to inform, speeches by management, interpretative reading, speaking on television, entertaining dinner speaking, communicating with news media, interpersonal communication, and others

Anna D. Banks, Public Relations Officer (PRO) for District 83 presented Paul Camarinha with a special pin to recognize the milestone.  Paul joined Toastmasters in 2009 and is the 2011-2012 President of the Toastmasters Club of Union.

"Achieving my Competent Communicator (CC) award is just the beginning.  I see this as a stepping stone towards achieving my Distinguished Toastmaster (DTM) award and pursuing speaking on a professional level", said Camarinha.  "Toastmasters International has a proven program, that is available for man or woman who decides to take the initiative and invest in himself or herself."
