Dec. 27, 2011 - PRLog -- Canoe Sailing Magazine has undergone a complete upgrade and revision and has been renamed Skinny Hull Canoe & Kayak Sailing Magazine, or simply Skinny Hull, so it is very apparent that it includes not just canoe sailing, but a broader range of skinny-boat sailing. Skinny Hull includes sailing kayaks, proas and similar style boats, Chesapeake log canoes and a variety of purpose-built two- and three-hull boats that are essentially canoes (or kayaks) with outriggers. We're working on covering ice boat sailing as well. So, essentially, if it mounts a sail and has a skinny hull we’ll cover it.

"Canoe Sailing had been back-burnered for months while we were working to find the right format for it."  Publisher Edward C. Maurer said from his Florida offices. "A real concern was that it should be more inclusive, or at least be more obvious that the magazine includes not only canoe sailing, but kayak sailing as well as many other types of skinny-hulled sailing craft. We want to even cover ice boat sailing, which is a real departure from the wet-water coverage we've had.

"We're inclined to just call the magazine Skinny Hull to open up the concept and perception of what we cover. We reserve the right to be flexible."

Skinny Hull magazine uses the Issuu online publishing format, which is a page-flipping program that emulates traditional paper magazines and provides more advantages and opportunities for larger articles and significantly great image size and quality.

Skinny Hull will be available through the Canoe Sailing Magazine site, which will remain as its entry point, blog and forum, at http://canoesailingmagazine.com

Formerly known as Canoe Sailing Magazine, Skinny Hull [http://CanoeSailingMagazine.com] is the only publication dedicated solely to the sport of canoe- and kayak sailing. It is "The Global Voice of Canoe- and Kayak Sailing."
