Matt Meyerkord to Team up with Brian Russell to Announce New Firm

Dec. 26, 2011 - PRLog -- On January 1st, 2012, attorneys Matt Meyerkord and Brian Russell will be announcing their new firm. Their firm is located in Kansas City, Missouri, where they will be providing legal counsel to the victims of personal injury accidents including those involving workers’ compensation and wrongful death claims.

Attorney Matt Meyerkord graduated from the University of Missouri – Columbia in 2001 where he received his B.A. in Communication with a minor in Anthropology. In 2004, he graduated from the University of Missouri – Kansas City, School of Law. In 2011 he was selected as “2011 Best of the Bar” by the Kansas City Journal and in September of 2010, he was selected as the “2010 Up & Coming Lawyer” by the Missouri Lawyers Weekly.

In June of 2010, attorney Meyerkord won a $225,000.00 premises liability case settlement on behalf of his client and in October of 2008, he won a $1,000.0000.00 trucking case settlement as well. In addition to advocating on behalf of injured victims, Meyerkord has used his professional experience to help the students of Webster University where he taught a class on the “Introduction to the law.”

Attorney Brian C. Russell is a native of St. Louis who graduated from the University of Missouri in 2002 with a degree in Psychology and English. His plan was to go to law school after college; however, after the attacks of September 11th occurred in his senior year, he decided to enlist in the U.S. Army instead. After basic training, Russell completed Officer Candidate School and was then commissioned as a lieutenant in the infantry. In 2004, he had the honor of serving as rifle platoon leader, where he was deployed for 14 months in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Although Mr. Russell enjoyed serving in the military, he maintained a strong desire to become a lawyer. After being discharged from the military, he moved to Kansas City where he attended the University of Missouri – Kansas City School of Law. He graduated with honors and finished first in the school’s Moot Court program. During which time he was also a member of the National Moot Court Team, where he served as a law review staff member. He also interned with the Honorable Judge Ortrie Smith of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Missouri.  Mr. Russell’s Bar admissions include: Missouri, 2010, Kansas, 2011 and the U.S. District Court, Kansas, 2011.

While attended law school, Brian C. Russell fell in love with Kansas City and decided to open a firm there.
