'Life In The Blurbs' Is Always Fun!

'Life In The Blurbs' is the new line created by Hannah Esty-McEwen. As always, the art she creates is fun and unusual, this time however, she is adding a personal touch to her pieces by adding 'blurbs' from her humorous life!

Dec. 24, 2011 - PRLog -- Come experience "Life In The Blurbs" the new line produced by Hannah Esty-McEwen for Decoupage Madness. She was one of several featured artists this year at the Art in the Barn event at Chestnut Hill Farm in Southboro Massachusetts, December 10th.

As always, the pieces of art Hannah creates are all one of a kind, upcycled items she has found at tag sales and thrift stores and reclaimed with paint, glue and funny quips. The items range from trays and boxes to mirrors and household items all renewed with the artist's personal style. She has always loved the color pallete of 'Lily Pullitzer' clothing, and the bulk of her collection reflects that theme with all of her items in happy fun bright green, orange and pink combinations. The pieces in this 'Life In The Blurbs' collection are slightly different from her past work which has always carried funny bits she had found combing through hundreds of old magazines and books. This time in addition to the new paint, each of the items get their own 'blurb', that she wrote, harvesting tales from her own wacky life.

For example one particular piece reads; "It was when she realized that she didn't see her bereaved friend anywhere in the church that she discovered that she had been at the wrong funeral for the past 45 minutes. How long was a mass supposed to be anyway?? How to make a discreet escape became her next worry." Another tray begins ' No one would claim the barking child...'

All of the items have similar quirky 'blurbs' which only the artist, and some of her family members, would confirm as true. It will make you want to read them all, just to see how outrageous they get.

Hannah Esty-McEwen is originally from Framingham Massachusetts and currently resides outside of Philadelphia. She was in town for the show and her art was featured along with many talented local artists including painter Pamela Esty and landscape artist Will Kirkpatrick.
