Stop smoking hypnotherapy... a new you for the New Year
Using stop smoking hypnosis, a leading north west practice aims to give people a fresh start to 2012 and the rest of their lives.
The practice says that using hypnotherapy to stop smoking is highly effective and can give people the freedom to choose a healthier, happier lifestyle. Want to Change says that as long as the client wants to stop smoking, hypnosis can be successful in providing the required motivation as well as removing a large amount of the withdrawal from cigarettes.
"For people thinking of using hypnotherapy to stop smoking, the most important thing is the desire to change," Want to Change's Jeremy Cobb said. "Without that, the subconscious mind will continue to use the patterns of behaviour it has built up over many years to make change incredibly difficult. So for those who are being told to change by a loved one, stop smoking hypnosis is unlikely to work. This is the same principle which stops a hypnotherapist from making someone behave in a way they wouldn't want to do." Of course if you DO want to stop then you subconscious helps and it is a very different story.
Stop smoking hypnosis is a simple treatment, consisting of one 90 minute session. Want to Change says that people who are willing to change, but need help in doing so, can walk away from that session as a non-smoker. Furthermore, it says that they will have all the tools they need to never smoke again.
The reason for this is that the subconscious mind will be supporting their decision to be a non-smoker, rather than working against it by using unhelpful patterns of behaviour. Instead of facing internal battles over smoking, they'll rarely – if ever – think about cigarettes again.
Explaining how it works, Jeremy said: "The subconscious mind is always applying protective methods using patterns of behaviour and they can be very difficult to contradict consciously. This is why giving up a habit can seem so hard. Someone can make the effort for 23 hours of the day, then let their self-control slip for just one hour, and the subconscious mind immediately feeds them the old pattern that it “knows” you need. Stop smoking hypnotherapy re-educates the subconscious mind to make better, healthier decisions. After that it is like your subconscious is protecting you from smoking ever again instead."
