Sharda University signs MoU with Steria (India) Limited

Dec. 23, 2011 - PRLog -- New Delhi/ Greater Noida: Sharda University, an institute of excellence,inspiring value-based education, research and development, today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Steria (India) Limited .

As per the MoU, Sharda University’s Both Parties agree to develop the following collaborative activities in the academic areas of mutual interest, on a basis of equality and reciprocity:

a) Help develop Faculty and administrative staff
b) Hire graduate and undergraduate students who qualify Steria’s criteria and selection processes based on business needs
c) Conducting collaborative research projects for mutual benefit
d) Conducting lectures and organising symposia
e) Steria to help build academic information and materials
f) Promoting collaboration in fields of mutual interest
g) Promoting other academic co-operation as mutually agreed

The development and implementation of specific activities based on this MOU will be separately negotiated and agreed to by the Schools/Departments that carry out the specific projects. Both parties agree to carry out these activities in accordance with the laws and regulations of the respective countries.

It is understood that the implementation of any of the types of co-operation stated in Clause 2 shall depend upon the availability of resources and financial support at the end of concerned Party.

The Parties have agreed on the following to enhance industry-academia partnership:

A) Engineering Programs:

a) Steria agrees to help build programs for Sharda engineering graduates in the second year of their graduation, for improvement in their communication and corporate mannerism. Selected Steria executives will also be the guest speakers for
specificclasses in Sharda.

b) To improve their subject knowledge and awareness from third year onwards, Steria will consider to engage few of them on their technology environment based on availability of infrastructure.. Possibility of setting up a prototype version of this environment at Sharda
will be explored, and the cost will be borne by Sharda

c) Recruitment of students from third year onwards will be based on students clearing the criteria and securing necessary scores in selection process. Steria will define programs for students to go through during the pre-placement period at Sharda itself.

B) Management Programs:

a) Steria is exploring Indian market for their products and services. A group of students for marketing would be needed. Steria will engage students of Sharda from MBA-marketing stream as and when required

b) For providing exposure to MBA students on CRM and SAP practices, Steria will provide experts for delivering lectures to the MBA students at Sharda.

C) Medical Programs:

a) For facilitating Steria team on medical consulting, it was agreed that the existing medical practitioners at Sharda may be engaged on consulting by setting up a demo platform at Sharda Hospital. This will provide the doctors at Sharda the international exposure and will enhance their expertise.

b) Some of the l doctors from the SMS&R and SDS may d be engaged for medical transcription, identification of diseases, settlement of medical claims, etc. based on the business needs from time to time.

D) Organizing Technology Conclave

Both the parties will make efforts to organize Technology Conclave to promote thought leadership in the areas of :

a) Emerging technologies
b) Innovative solutions
c) Management issues

The MoU has been signed by Mr. Mukund Menon, Director, Steria (India) Limited and Prof.Avais Ahamad, Registrar, Sharda University.

Speaking on the occasion Mr. Predeep kumar gupta Chancellor, Sharda University, Said, “We  proudly announce that a Memorandum of Understanding has been signed between Sharda University and Steria (India) Limited. We will collectively help each other in order to promote research activities among the students and faculty members of both the organization. We thank Mr.Mukund Menon taking this initiative and we expect the same support in future as well.”
