Montrio Bistro Mixologist Anthony Vitacca Introduces New Cocktails

MONTEREY, CA  (December 22nd, 2011) Montrio Bistro, at 414 Calle Principal in Monterey, Mixologist Anthony Viticca introduces new seasonal cocktails.

The "Nouveaux Sing Sling".   This cocktail is Vitacca’s modern interpretation of a pre-prohibition classic, the "Singapore Sling" which was invented in 1915 at the Raffles Hotel in Singapore which still serves thousands a week!  Vitacca serves his version martini-style and makes it with Broker's gin, Cherry Herring, Benedictine, Cointreau, fresh pineapple, grenadine, fresh lime, and Angostura bitters. He makes a foam out of pineapple, lime and grenadine, place that on top of the cocktail and spritzes bitters on top to form the Montrio "M".

The next is one of Vitacca’s originals. It is called "Fairy Dust" and contains Absinthe which is often referred to as "The Green Fairy".  His concoction contains Damrak gin, Kubler absinthe, house-made falernum (ginger, lime, almond, all-spice, clove, rum and simple syrup), Green Chartreuse dust ( evaporated Green Chartreuse crushed into "dust") and fresh lime, garnished with a cocktail onion.
