Exciting New Weight Loss Program - FREE Trial Starts January 9th - Victoria, BC
Naturopathic Doctor and Certified Hypnotherapist team to offer an exciting new weight loss program that incorporates the hypnotic tool, Virtual Gastric Band, and the latest medical reasearch. 12 people to be selected for the Free Trial
By: Julia Anderson
The diet industry just got its wake-up call. The latest innovation is a return to NATURAL Healthy Living. Losing weight WITHOUT Fad Diets, Surgery or Extreme Exercise is not only the simplest way to achieve success; it is also the most permanent.
Local Certified Hypnotherapist, Julia Anderson, and local Naturopathic Doctor, Dr. Bryn Bentham would like to invite Victoria area residents who are struggling to lose and maintain their weight to take part in a free trial for an exciting new weight-loss system. This system incorporates the hypnotic tool, the Virtual Gastric Band, developed by UK clinical hypnotherapist Sheila Granger, along with tools and information from the latest medical research regarding the physiology and psychology of weight loss.
The Virtual Gastric Band has gone through similar trials in the United Kingdom (UK), revealing a 95% success rate. The first trial saw 24 out of 25 candidates lose an astounding 190 lb in 5 weeks. This result attracted the attention of a General Practitioner in Beverley, East Yorkshire England and a second trial was conducted with 12 of his patients who had been removed from the bariatric surgery (gastric band surgery) waiting list by UK’s National Health Services (NHS) due to budget cuts. Again 95% of the group experienced a positive result. As a result the program has attracted people from all over the UK.
Virtual Gastric Band is just now becoming known in the US and Canada. According to a report released by the Public Health Agency in June of this year, approximately one in four Canadian adults are obese and the number is growing. It is clear that a new approach is needed to combat this. Julia Anderson and Dr. Bentham are thrilled about the being able to bring an enhanced version of the program to Vancouver Island.
The free treatments will be delivered in 7 group sessions. There will be 5 weekly sessions and 2 follow up sessions roughly 3 weeks apart. All sessions will be delivered at the offices of Dr. Bentham at 1555 McKenzie on Monday evenings. The first session will be on Monday, January 9, 2012.
The virtual gastric band will be “installed”
The remainder of the sessions will deal with the physiology and psychology of weight loss, addressing many things, including:
• Why you are driven to eat certain things
• Why you engage in certain behaviours around food and exercise
• What happens in the body as weight is being shed
• What sorts of thoughts and emotions derail attempts at positive change
These things will be addressed both from the level of the conscious mind and the subconscious, so that participants will be able to get all parts of their mind working together towards their healthy living goals.
These components and the support aspect of having the program run over an 11 week period allows people to really incorporate the changes into their lifestyle and create permanent healthy habits.
Julia Anderson says: “I am very excited at the prospect of being able to help my clients to achieve their health goals in this way. There is nothing magical or mystical about hypnotherapy, instead it is a method that enables a person to help themselves. On this program people seem to find it easy to cut down on their food intake and then really focus on a permanent healthy lifestyle.”
Dr. Bryn Bentham says: “Obesity is not a disease, it's a symptom. It’s the end result of a self-destructive behavioural pattern. Most weight loss programs ultimately fail because they target the symptom, and not the cause. The reason I'm excited about this program is because it addresses the underlying psychological barriers to losing weight, and gives you a simple blueprint outlining what you can then do to re-gain health. Julia's virtual gastric band helps break the overeating cycle, which is the first step. We then explore how your body is meant to function, and give you the tools you need to support healthy metabolism. Weight loss is the side effect.”
The trial is limited to twelve people. There are no costs to participate, but participants must agree to all the program guidelines. More information and an online application form are available at http://www.livinghealthyvictoria.com
