Dec. 22, 2011 - PRLog -- Virtual Campus Incorporated (VCi) is currently undergoing a series of intercontinental bandwidth tests for research and development purposes on the VCi platform to further enhance the VCi global communications experience between the US and Africa.

Richard Williams, President and Founder of VCi, is currently in Africa as of this release. He is currently facilitating tests in the Republic of Uganda to determine whether the VCi Solution can work in that country.  After a great deal of initial research before arrival in Africa and a series of successful communication tests while in Africa, Mr. Williams has concluded that Uganda maintains the most technologically prepared infrastructure within the Sub Sahara Region.

By referencing the growth and success of the US; specifically the ability to construct highway, railway and telephone lines to connect the US from East to West therefore sustaining a modern economy, Mr. Williams envisions the implementation of cloud computing and videoconferencing topologies to connect as much of Africa in an effort to establish centralized videoconferencing sites.  Mr. Williams and his team have taken special notice to individuals with meager or limited resources in Africa as they have a cell phone or two which is used on a pre paid or pay per usage basis. “This feasible and economical foundation enables for numerous communication and enterprise opportunities as long as funds are available for the consumer.  One has to take advantage of this common denominator, low cost hand held mobile devices, to enable virtual connectivity to every person in the country.   Service opportunities within Distance Learning, the Medical industry, Law Enforcement, Protective services, B2B, Professional Development, Academics etc. are the solutions needed immediately. Africa needs low cost solutions that won’t break the bank.” Says Mr. Williams

With any signs of connection success, Mr. Williams plans to pursue future opportunities with major telecom service providers e.g. Orange Uganda, The Uganda Telecommunication Commission, several other communications/business ministries and other organizations whereas the VCi Solution will possibly implement low cost, effective and instant services to their population. Mr. Williams feels that the people in Uganda are extremely hard working and that they could benefit tremendously from communications assistance and opportunities of this type can easily help people with their individual goals.

VCi has also embarked on the re-branding of the corporate website (www.virtualcampusinc.com). The site will constantly grow to articulate the many service offerings of VCI as well as provide supportive visuals allowing for a clearer understanding of VCI solutions.

VCi has also released the first video in a series entitled “Introduction to Multi-User Video Conferencing” which can be viewed at the following URL:

Mr. Richard Williams, Founder, has been on the frontier of videoconferencing solutions for the past 20 years with accomplishments that include pioneering the integration of the first PC based videoconferencing system. The systems enabled the transmission of real time, 30 frames per second, full motion picture over 2 pair of conventional unshielded telephone wire. Mr. Williams orchestrated the first intercontinental full T-1 videoconferencing session between the USA and Britain and also a fiber optic trunk to T1 link between the UCLA Department of Chemistry and Bio Chemistry and the Keck Math/Science Institute in Santa Monica. Mr. Williams also held the first videoconferencing demonstration in Costa Rica as well as the first Africa to US videoconferencing POTTS connection.
