Rayovac Recalls Battery Packs that May Explode

Rayovac Recalls NI-CD Cordless Tool Battery Packs (manufactured in China) because they may explode.
 
Dec. 21, 2011 - PRLog -- Bootstrap America www.bootstrapamerica.net has learned that Rayovac has begun voluntarily recalling their Rayovac NI-CD Cordless Tool Battery Packs because they may explode. According to  the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission this product is the replacement battery packs used with the cordless tools Bosch, Black and Decker, DeWalt, Makita, Milwaukee, Panasonic, Ryobi and Skil. The product is sold exclusively at BatteriesPlus between June 2008 and October 2011. To date, BatteriesPlus has received five reports of exploding batteries. No injuries have been reported.

Now here is a shocker – guess where the product is made - Rayovac NI-CD Cordless Tool Battery Packs are manufactured in China.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission advises that consumers “should immediately stop using and remove the battery packs from cordless tools.
