Last Chance to Catch “A Celebration in Lights” at Camp Pa-Qua-Tuck
Camp Pa-Qua-Tuck is encouraging those who have not already done so to visit “A Celebration in Lights,” the camp’s holiday light show, before the end of the month.
Tickets are $15.00 per car, with proceeds to benefit Camp Pa-Qua-Tuck. The camp is located on Chet Swezey Road in Center Moriches.
The event will include a spectacular light show that can be experienced by driving through the grounds of Camp Pa-Qua-Tuck. In an economy where non-profits are looking for creative ways to raise money, the camp is presenting a spectacular light show which allows children and adults alike to take in the magnificent holiday displays while supporting a wonderful cause. So far this year, more than 400 families visited the holiday light show.
Gates open at 6 p.m. and close at 9 p.m. Tickets may be purchased in advance or at the gate.
Volunteers are needed to help bring down the lights and displays after December 30. Those who are interested can call Karen at (516) 248-0886 or Bridget at (631) 878-1070. Camp Pa-Qua-Tuck was created by members of the Moriches Rotary Club in 1946. Located on the shores of Kaler's Pond on eastern Long Island, Camp Pa-Qua-Tuck is funded entirely by donations and is a special place where children with physical and developmental disabilities can experience first hand the pleasures that an active life has to offer. Children participate in a wide range of activities especially designed for youngsters who are in wheelchairs as well as those who are ambulatory. These activities include swimming, boating, arts and crafts, petting zoo, talent shows, cook-outs, games and a Carnival Day. The program also provides educational activities in areas such as nature, arts, fire safety and communication skills.
