Dec. 20, 2011 - PRLog -- It’s called cyber land lording, and its purpose is exactly what it sounds like. Cyber land lords lease out website real estate to businesses and companies who would want to place their ads or links in some popular websites related to their trade. It’s a branch of the all-pervasive Internet marketing industry today, and like almost every other branch, it is booming.

Since the name of the game for Internet marketing is traffic (organic or search traffic), it’s easily understandable how demand for good ad space is bolstering the facet of the marketing industry which is cyber land lording. Website real estate that is rife with targeted visitors is too good to miss out on, especially if all you have to do is pay a bit for the space for a given amount of time. The return on this little investment can be huge, and depending on how much traffic the website leasing out real estate actually gets, the owner can charge a hefty price tag for ad space and get a lot out of his website’s fame.

Obviously, the main factors that dictate how much ad space can charge include pagerank and perhaps indicators like Alexa and Compete. Additional metrics aside from the omnipresent pagerank depend on the website’s target demographics, but remain contributing factor just the same. As for affiliates or merchants looking to take up ad real estate, they may have their own metrics of quality with which they can gauge if a particular website or page is suitable for their needs.

The Internet marketing industry is developing in almost all its fronts, and for entrepreneurs who wish to develop viable cyber real estate, some cyberlandlording action steps  ( http://www.cyberlandlordingforthetechnicallychallenged.co... ) are in order to achieve that goal and charge a considerable amount for any ad space up for lease.
