Corrosion Control Facility for Black Hawks Opens in Missouri

Dec. 20, 2011 - PRLog -- Corrosion is one of the Defense Department's worse enemies. And to protect the country's defense equipments from its destructive property, a national guard helicopter repair facility was opened in Springfield, Missourilast December 19. The said new helicopter repair facility is specifically located in Springfield-Branson National Airport. Called as Corrosion Control Center, it is part of the airport's National Guard's Theatre Aviation Sustainment Maintenance Group.

Particularly, the facility will be providing corrosion control services to Army's Black Hawks. It will strip the aircraft of paint, will inspect it for rust  and repaint it. And as one of only four helicopter repair facilities in the country, it will be supporting 14 state regions.
