By: TR Cutler Based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Seegrid Corp. (www.seegrid.com) Mason’s strong interest in robotics, vision systems, and automation made this a good fit, noting, “Seegrid is breaking new ground in robotics and I wanted to be involved…I jumped at the opportunity.” As Sr. Electrical Engineer, Mason will be a key player in the Quality Department at Seegrid. He will be responsible for overseeing Seegrid’s quality policies, programs and initiatives, while also supporting lean manufacturing processes. Mason emphasized the importance of Seegrid developing scalable manufacturing processes to respond to the increasing customer demand for Robotic Industrial Trucks. Mason has worked for Sony and most recently, Westinghouse Electric Company, Inc. While at Westinghouse, Mason focused on developing nuclear safety controls and commented that, “This experience gave me a great appreciation for safety. I was impressed that Seegrid robots could safely with both workers and equipment.” He designed automated assembly processes, vision systems, automated tests and automated adjustments for Sony Electronics, Inc. This experience in automated testing processes will be vital to Seegrid’s efficiency and standardization. Mike Brueggman, Director of Quality at Seegrid, says of Mason: “Jack comes to Seegrid with an extensive and diverse electrical and software engineering background. With this specialized knowledge, particularly in manufacturing and automation, he will be a key building block for Seegrid as it continues to refine the Quality Management System and Quality functions.” With more than thirty years of innovation and research by the leading robotic scientists, engineers, programmers and logistics practitioners worldwide, Seegrid’s exclusive Robotic Industrial Trucks are revolutionizing the movement of materials in manufacturing and distribution environments. Seegrid’s technology transforms industrial vehicles into un-manned, automated pallet trucks and tow tractors that operate without the need for wire, tape, laser or other costly automated guided vehicle (AGV) guidance systems. Seegrid offers solutions that optimize workflow processes by increasing productivity and reducing costs, creating economic and operational advantages. Seegrid will be a significant part of MODEX 2012 in Atlanta, GA February 6 – 9th. Exhibiting at Booth 3100, Seegrid is proud to participate in one the largest expositions for manufacturing, distribution and supply chain solutions in the Americas in 2012.
