Follow on Google News | Eagle Harbor Wine Company Announces 1st Annual Holiday Release Party December 17th & 18th 2011The winery will feature artisanal wine tastings, introduce two prodigious release wines and serving delectable charcuterie from Hitchcock Delicatessen and Charcuterie Bainbridge Island, Washington
“Eagle Harbor “Raptor” Cabernet Sauvignon Walla Walla 2008 spent an astounding 18 months on its lees, with Remash constantly tasting and evaluating for the entire three years this stuff spent in the barrel. The palate is hallmark Left Bank Cabernet: black berry fruit, black cherry, licorice, lanolin, warm black currants, graphite, abundant minerality, chalk, dried plum, violets, green peppercorn, nutmeg, and loess. The texture shows fine, supple tannins which promise to reward proper aging; I’d estimate 3 – 5 years to hit the prime window. 94 Points,” as quoted by Steve Body, The Pour Fool, Seattle Post Intelligencer The Malbec 2008 is made from organic grapes from the Gilbert Vineyard in Eastern Washington and will be attractively priced for this event. To mark this festive occasion, the winery will be featuring delicious charcuterie from Hitchcock Delicatessen and Charcuterie. Brendan McGill, Owner/Chef of Hitchcock is one of the hottest new chefs in the Seattle area. Chef Brendan has cooked in the kitchens and with locals throughout Spain, France and Italy, employing the techniques of Europe’s great cuisines while enjoying bounty of the Pacific Northwest. Meet, mix and mingle with our multi-talented winemaker, Hugh Remash, sip his elegant wines and sample some fabulous charcuterie during this fun filled release party.
