2012 O’Reilly Auto Parts AutoRama Brings America’s Finest Vehicles to Dallas

Dec. 15, 2011 - PRLog -- DALLAS – Dec. 15, 2011 – The 52nd annual O’Reilly Auto Parts AutoRama® of Dallas will host some of America’s finest hot rods, customs, trucks and motorcycles at the Dallas Market Hall from Friday, Feb. 17, through Sunday, Feb. 19.  Enthusiasts will be greeted by local and national celebrities, a unique collection of custom-built cars and a dynamic action arena.  The O’Reilly Auto Parts AutoRama is sanctioned by the International Show Car Association (ISCA) and is part of the Summit Racing Show Car Series.

“This year’s schedule is packed full of events and exhibits that everyone will enjoy,” said Bob Larivee Jr., CEO of Championship Auto Show Inc.  “Movie buffs will have the chance to check out the Chevrolet Transformers 3 Camaro, that was custom built for the filming of ‘Transformers 3.’  Wrestling enthusiasts will have the opportunity to meet WWE World Champion Rey Mysterio.”

Other celebrities making appearances at this year’s AutoRama include Billy Bretherton from “Billy the Exterminator,” and Texas Rangers mascot, Rangers Captain.  Dean Jefferies’ Mantaray, an iconic bubble top form the 1960’s with a revolutionary frame, and the BASF 1957 Mercedes 300SL Gullwing, redesigned by Chip Foose, will also be exhibited.

An exciting addition to this year’s event is the Pinstriper Panel Jam & Charity Auction.  Auctions will take place on Saturday at 1 p.m. and 4 p.m., as well as on Sunday at 2 p.m.  All proceeds will benefit the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children.

“We’re proud to dedicate a section of this year’s event to help raise money for children,” added Larivee.  “Attendees can purchase pinstriped panels, bowling pins and other unique items at the auctions on Saturday and Sunday, while supporting outstanding medical care for children in Texas.”

For attendees seeking a thrill, the Dallas Autorama Action Arena will host Cacklefests featuring the Living Legends of Drag Racing, as well as Big Foot Monster Truck Car Crushing demonstrations and burnout competitions.  The Gizzlehopper, Scorpion I and Scorpion V will also drive excitement when they hit the drag strip throughout the three-day event.

Vehicle owners looking for ways to keep their vehicle in tip-top shape can attend Meguiar’s Car Care Tips seminars each day during AutoRama.  Enthusiasts can also explore exhibits such as Motorama Traditional Rod & Custom Exhibit presented by Ol Skool Rodz and DRAG CITY USA’s selection of vintage racecars.
