Dec. 14, 2011 - PRLog -- The NBA has released their official statement regarding  the trade of point guard Chris Paul. The all-star point guard has finally been traded to the Los Angeles Clippers. This trade is in lieu of the trade that had Paul going to the Lakers as of last week.  That trade was nixed because of so called “basketball reasons”.

Hornets Chairman Jac Sperling said "We wanted to make sure that we got the best possible deal for a player of Chris' caliber, and we feel great about the outcome. We feel our future looks very bright and we look forward to continue to create an organization that New Orleans will be proud of.  We wish him (Chris Paul) the best of luck."

The New Orleans Hornets receive forward Al-Farouq Aminu, guard Eric Gordon, center Chris Kaman and the Minnesota Timberwolves' 2012 first round pick, which looks to be a very good deal.  The Los Angeles Clippers of course get Chris Paul and two 2015 second round picks round picks. The Hornets will look very different on the court. They were a playoff team last year.  If they gel quickly there’s no reason they won’t be a playoff team this year as well.  Aminu is a young talent with a very bright future, Gordon is a big time scorer and one of the best two guards in the league and Kaman is a proven center and former All-Star. The future for the Hornets looks bright.

What about the future for the Clippers? They have Chris Paul to pair up with DeAndre Jordan and Blake Griffin.  Showtime… Clippers?  Yep. The trendy place to be this season will be at the Clippers game.  It will definitely be an exciting brand of basketball.  Imagine Chris Paul and Blake Griffin on the break!  How good will the Clippers be?  It depends on the pieces the Clippers organization puts around its young exciting stars.

Here’s a question most fans could easily answer before. If season tickets were priced the same, which team would you pay to see, the Lakers or the Clippers?  It’s not so easy to answer that question anymore.  Or maybe it is.
