MMA World Record - Big News For The UFC

Dec. 14, 2011 - PRLog -- Miami, FL (MartialLaunch) - Mixed Martial Arts crowd favorite 8th Degree Black Belt, Shihan Moti Horenstein literally broke a world record by kicking through and breaking 49 Louisville Slugger Baseball Bats in one minute using only his feet and legs.

The goal was to achieve the world record for “Most Baseball Bats Broken In A Minute” and this successful attempt was made and witnessed by nearly 900 spectators including the Mayor of Fort Lauderdale, James Naugel at LaVallee’s Blackbelt Spectacular on April 5th, 2008 at The Parker Playhouse. The previous World Record for bat breaking was 23 baseball bats set by Markus Boch of Germany in 2007. This means that Shihan Horenstein almost doubled the number of bats split in the same time frame with 38 broken into two pieces and an additional 11 shattered.

The event and achievement was officially registered and authenticated by Guiness Book of World Records in London. The bats used were Louisville Slugger Model K 100 All Purpose 36 inch Wood Fungo bats. Known for both his humbleness and strong presence, when asked by an interested party, “did it hurt at all?”, “Shihan Horenstein, replied, “Of Course… A little bit.”
