Dec. 14, 2011 - PRLog -- Take 50 states, the world’s third largest country, throw in a set of mazes, up to 5 balls, and you’ve got a recipe for international gaming success. Maze in the USA, recently made its debut on the iTunes app store, proving a hit amongst gamers after a healthy first day on the market.

The goal, visit all cities on the map in the shortest amount of time. How? — By tilting the iPad and navigating through the maze to all your selected cities. The challenge? Choosing the right order of cities you wish to visit carefully enough that it doesn’t effect your score. Simple enough, or is it?

Great for motor skills and honing your knowledge of American geography, Maze in The USA lets you select your own travel route between each capital city, tilting the ball accordingly until the final destination is reached.

Moreover, if you choose road trip mode, points are allocated based off the population of the city you’re travelling to, including how quickly you complete the maze.

Although completing your route with 10,000 bonus points that count down as you play may sound easy, you’d be surprised at how challengingly addictive the Maze in The USA can be.

Originally manufactured in 1995 as a bulky A3 board game consisting of one giant maze and 51 steel ball bearings, Maze in the USA is the creation of entrepreneur Lex Martin.

“We handmade the original version of this game on an A3 version of cardboard that was incredibly painstaking to produce,” says Martin.

Fast-forward 16 years and you have the iPad, a truly exceptional platform for games as it has an in-built accelerometer.

Without going into too much detail, an accelerometer allows Maze players to tilt their iPad and guide their balls through the maze accordingly. Even if you were to tap the iPad with your finger, the ball would react to that.

This allows for some outrageously fun gameplay that’s age friendly and educational so both kids and parents can enjoy this game.

Maze in the USA is as addictive as it is educational. So if you’re looking for that perfect Christmas present, jump onto the iTunes app store and get on board the Maze in the USA road trip. Available for US$0.99, more information on this app can be found here at http://www.mazeintheusa.com.
