Denmon and Denmon Trial Lawyers Dollof was charged in April with one count of exploitation of Edward M. Edwards (his 84-year-old neighbor), for the amount of $130,000. Instead of lengthy jail time, the defendant got probation of 10 years as agreed to by the state in lieu of incarceration. Dollof will also have to pay back the remaining money to Edward’s family in monthly $500 installments. According to authorities, the 56-year-old defendant was arrested after one of the victim’s daughters reported to the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office suspicious activity in the victim’s bank account. Upon investigation, detectives learned that Dollof made checks amounting to $40,000, $15,000 and $15,000 payable to “cash” and deposited the checks into his own bank account. The news reports say Dollof also took the victim’s pickup truck and had it traded in for a newer model. The defendant’s Tampa Criminal Lawyer, Nicole Denmon Denmon & Denmon Trial Lawyers, who is also a Tampa divorce attorney, said her client spent a portion of the stolen money to cover Edward’s medical expenses. The ailing victim, prior to his death, was under the defendant’s care for a while. Denmon added that Dollof realizes he needs to pay the entire remaining amount of more than $51,000 he owes in order to avoid going to prison. He will pay the remaining amount to Edward’s two daughters. Dollof also obtained ownership of the victim’s home but signed it back over to one of Edward’s daughters. Denmon also said the victim’s family was able to recover around $80,000 of the $130,000. The said amount consists of the $46,000 seized from the defendant’s bank account and the house swap after his account was frozen. She added if her client finishes the payments early, his probation could be shortened.
