Families Complain About Moldy Virginia Housing, Mold-Removal Suggests the Use of a Green Solution
Families in a Navy Housing in Virginia are complaining about leaks and mold presence in their houses. However, only after the issues were brought to a local media and two letters were sent to VA Rep that actions were taken.
Angela Johnson is one of the Navy wives who had experienced first hand the negative effects of the leaks and the mold presence. Last July, their home's ceiling collapsed. Because of mold presence, she and her kids also have to stay in hotel since the second of December.
However, only after 20 twenty calls did Johnson's ceiling get fixed. Worse, only after taking her concern to a news channel and two letters to Virginia Representative was something done about the mold problem.
Reportedly, there are nine other housing complaints that are being investigated.

“Thirteen months ago, Angela Johnson with her husband Boatswain’s Mate 2nd Class (SW) Phillip Johnson and their children moved in to a Navy Housing Complex in Virginia Beach. However, it's not all good in their new place.”
“Since the second of December, Angela and her three kids have to live in a hotel. That's because their house in the Navy Complex became unhabitable all thanks, or rather no thanks, to leaks and mold. However, the problems are not recent. Angela had been complaining about the leaks since the day they moved in.”
“When the Johnsons' ceiling gave up in July, it took 20 calls for Angela to get it fixed. However, it took news and two letters to the congressman for the mold in her home to be remediated. And she and her husband are not at all happy about it.”
“Apart from Angela, nine other complaints in the housing complex are being investigated. And when Virginia Representative Scott Rigell known all about it, he was disturbed and stunned according to the report.”

“Angela Johnson and her three children have been living in a hotel since Dec. 2.”
“That’s because the private firm that manages her Navy housing complex says her mold-infested home in the Sandpiper Crescent housing area in Virginia Beach is uninhabitable.”
“It’s not for lack of trying to get it fixed. Johnson had been complaining about water leaking through bathroom exhaust fans upstairs ever since she and Boatswain’s Mate 2nd Class (SW) Phillip Johnson and their children moved in 13 months ago.”
“I got to the point where I was running out of buckets,” Johnson said.”
