SDA Bocconi gains places in Financial Times School ranking 2011

An increase in 10 places from the 2010 position in the prestigious Financial Times 2011 European Business School ranking credits both Bocconi University and SDA Bocconi programs.

Dec. 13, 2011 - PRLog -- With its recent ascent in what is the most highly-regarded European Business School ranking, the Financial Times’, SDA Bocconi School of Management sees 2011 as a year marked by positive results and prestigious recognitions at the international level. Bocconi has gained 10 places in the FT European Business School 2011 ranking, finishing joint seventh with ESADE and Rotterdam and overtaking, among others, Oxford University Saïd Business School, ESSEC and London’s Cass Business School.
The rise in theFT ranking is due to the excellent positions awarded in the specialized rankings compiled each year by the FT. In 2011, the ( http://mba.sdabocconi.it/home/fulltime_eng.php ) SDA Bocconi full-time MBA was ranked 10th in Europe, while the ( http://mba.sdabocconi.it/home/global_eng.php )Executive MBA debuted at number 28. In the Executive Education ranking, the Open Programs of SDA Bocconi School of Management came 12th and the Custom Programs 15th. Finally, Bocconi came 24th in Europe in the Master in Management ranking.

“This result confirms the high standards of our programs at all levels, pre- and post-experience. It has been achieved through a robust effort towards greater internationalization and attraction of talent from all over the world”, explains Guido Tabellini, Chancellor of Bocconi University. “In recent years, we have hired 27 teaching staff with strong international backgrounds, and this year has seen the arrival of Nobel Prize Winner Michael Spence at SDA Bocconi.”

With this latest result, Bocconi University and SDA Bocconi School of Management have strengthened their place among the leading European Business Schools. This year the MBA program ( http://mba.sdabocconi.it/home/index_eng.php ) offered by SDA Bocconi, the only Italian School of Management to feature in all the major international rankings, rose to 1st in the world for return on investment in the Bloomberg Businessweek ranking. The MBA program has also allowed the School to reach 4th place amongst the top non-US Business Schools in the Forbes ranking, which is also based on return on investment. In the QS 2011 World University ranking, Bocconi placed 15th for its graduates’ reputation, 26th for Finance and Accounting, and 29th for Economics.

“Gaining places in this prestigious ranking for the third year running is a recognition of the substantial work we have done towards internationalization and building relationships with the business world”, explains Alberto Grando, Dean of SDA Bocconi. “These results show that our graduates are highly regarded by employers, who are willing to offer them career advancement in return.”

A further testimony of the quality of the programs offered by SDA Bocconi is the accreditation by the AACSB (The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business), announced on 5 December 2011 by the Board of Directors of AACSB International. This accreditation, in addition to the previously awarded EQUIS and AMBA, marks the completion of the top three accreditations offered by the most important international institutions, and places the School among just 55 Business Schools worldwide to have received the AACSB accreditation.
