Casio Watches Bluetooth Watch hits the Market in Japan

Casio watches has launched a range of Bluetooth Enabled Watches

Dec. 10, 2011 - PRLog -- Many people have long seen timepieces as a logical place to display information.

From the imaginations of cartoon writers and the “Dick Tracy”, watch to more recent innovations from Casio watches such as the Databank watches that followed in the 1980’s.

The trend declined with the rise of mobile phones that offered a more convenient way of storing important phone numbers and similar information.  However, as phones have evolved in to a constant data source, bringing email and text messages, the need for another screen to present this information has grown.

Enter the Smartphone connected wristwatch from Casio watches.  The new G-Shock design allows the wearer to monitoring incoming emails, text messages and calls.  The Casio Watches design utilises Bluetooth 4.0 that allows the wearer of the watch to receive this information even without a wired connection to the phone, making the watch perfect for those times when it is inconvenient to look at a phone, such as in the workplace or during a meeting.  The operational distance of the Bluetooth transceiver within the watch is dependent on conditions but should be fine within a range of two to five metres.

The watch is part of the G-Shock range that has traditionally highlighted functions and reliability, so it comes as little shock that the range was chosen to host this melding of practicality and technology. G-Shock watches are ideal everyday watches offering many features and superior ruggedness.  The new watch is no exception and this latest phone is water-resistant to 20 Bar of pressure and weighs in at just 65g.  As you would expect from the G-Shock range, the watch is also able to withstand shocks fro, That Bluetooth capability isn’t much of a battery drain either, with the battery still rated as good for two years before you’ll need to replace it.

The watch has been released in Japan so far and looks set to come to the UK in due course.  It is not yet known if third party app manufacturers will produce apps for phones to allow the watch to take on other functions.
