Dec. 8, 2011 - PRLog -- Christmas came early this year for 14-year old Wentzville, Missouri native Kyle Weatherman. Weatherman is a rising star in auto racing and he claimed another record for his already impressive resume' by winning the prestigious USLCI Legend Car National's at Las Vegas (NV) Motor Speedway in October.

Weatherman enjoyed a record-setting racing season in only his sixth year behind the wheel since he started racing Go-Karts. The win capped a 2011 60-race schedule where he crisscrossed the United States racing his Legend car and his IMCA Modified.

The Legends Pro division pits drivers up to 40-years old in purposefully built 1930's 5/8-scale replica sedans where drivers compete on dirt, asphalt, and roadcourse tracks. The USLCI Legend Car Nationals brings together the best of the best from across the United States and Canada each year in order to crown a national champion.

Young Kyle showed his racing prowess by besting the top drivers from around the country with the final field being pared down to the best 35 drivers. Weatherman started mid-pack and stayed out of trouble throughout the early portion of the race moving into the top five by halfway.

Weatherman then grabbed the lead late in the race and cruised to his first Legend Car National Championship crown. "That was an incredible race," Weatherman offered. "You are racing some of the very best drivers in the country and to win is just awesome."

While competing against many competitors more than twice his age, his talent behind the wheel is unmistakable. Racing may be his passion and a pursuit he hopes to make a career out of, but this humble 8th grade honors student at Holt Middle School is firmly grounded.

Kyle enjoys duck hunting with his father, loves math, and spending time with his family and friends.

Do not let his youthful persona fool you though, Kyle is as driven to success as any of the icons of the sport. He is an accomplished speaker and is poised in front of the camera. "I just want to get better as a driver and continue to advance up the racing ladder," Kyle said.

Weatherman plans an ambitious 2012 race schedule where he will again compete in the Legends Pro division while also splitting time in his IMCA Dirt Modified where he holds the record as the youngest feature winner in the sanctioning body's history. "It is all about seat time and racing as much as I can which will allow me to compete against the best and become better."

Better is certainly relative when you are already considered the best of the best as the newly crowned 2011 Legends Car National Champion.
