Follow on Google News | ITT's miniature filter spring probe & pad contact technology extends operating lifeAdvanced 24-spring probe & pad contact technology qualified to more than 10,000 mating/unmating cycles...
By: ITT Interconnect Solutions The new filter spring probe & pad contact technology creates electrical contact by utilizing pressure-point force of the spring-loaded pin to the contact pad, instead of the sliding forces typically found on conventional pin socket contacts. The contact pad on the receptacle (device) side of the connector is flush with the mating face of the connector and can be easily cleaned by simply wiping the interface. This is an extremely attractive feature for field applications where dirt, moisture, mud, sand and other contaminants may be present. The ultra-small, 24-contact design delivers the desired miniaturization and high-density configurations to provide a low-weight, high-performance product. "The Filter Spring Probe Series connector devices provide a robust and durable interconnect solution designed to deliver a long lifecycle in harsh environments," The Filter Spring Probe Series connector is suitable for applications including military radios, surveillance systems, night vision goggles, soldier combat systems, IED countermeasures, head-up displays, detection equipment and radar systems.
