Surging Night-time Revenues A Big Boost for Sydney's Economy

Sydney's night-time business establishments play a key role in the city's economy.
Dec. 7, 2011 - PRLog -- According to the latest annual statistical results, Sydney leads all  Australian cities in terms of revenues generated from evening-based industries and establishments for the past several years. These industries are  mostly composed of night clubs, bars, discos, hotels, motels, lodging houses and inns.

The income generated by these businesses has been increasing every year. This led to the arrival of several more new establishments, and consequently, more job opportunities for the residents.

Many experts credit the success of these night-time businesses as one of the key factors behind Sydney's dominance in Australian Tourism. And of course, it is also credited as a major driving force for Sydney's over-all economy.

Acknowledging the growing influence of these businesses to the city, several Sydney lawmakers are now pushing for new resolutions that  aim to further expand the scope of all evening-based businesses.

Among the issues expected to be addressed include a faster and smoother development application process. This resolution was proposed following numerous compliants by business owners, many of whom had to undergo a rigorous process before being allowed to open business. These owners argue that current laws are too strict and demanding. They also contend that by making the process less difficult, potential investors will no longer be discouraged to start their business in Sydney.

Another key issue being discussed is that of public safety. While the crime percentage in Sydney is very low even at night, both the government and the business owners agree that improved police presence will only help encourage hesitant customers to come over.

Many analysts believe that if these resolutions are implemented in the immediate future, the number of nighy-time business could possibly soar to even better heights. And barring any legal obstacles, most of these resolutions are expected to be passed into laws in less than a year. This early, Sydney business are giddy and excited for the future - and for good reason.

"We're just glad that the government is extra nice to us and our business," says a bar owner, who refused to reveal his name, "We've been able to open another bar early this year and hopefully, one more for next year. It just feels great and rewarding to a be a business owner in Sydney."

With the success of Sydney's night-time business, other cities are expected to follow suit, most especially Perth and its' thriving night-time industry. For more information, check out this page:
