What Does It Take to Be a Good Dad? Delaware Author Instructs Men How to Be ‘A Father for Life’

Relationship Expert Darrell V. Freeman Explains The 6 “C’s” of Being A Star Dad

Dec. 7, 2011 - PRLog -- MIDDLETOWN, Del. – Many men aren’t taught how to be the best father in their children’s lives, yet the role is so critical.  However, a new book, A Father for Life: The 6 “C’s” of Being a Star Dad, by author and relationship expert Darrell V. Freeman, aims to provide fathers with the tools necessary to augment their role in their son or daughter’s life to the best it can be possibly.  The book, co-authored with Sheldon Nix, Ph.D., is set for release on December 14.

“I’ve spoken to thousands of men throughout the course of my career,” says Freeman, a sought-after speaker on healthy adult relationships, fatherhood and youth development.  “I’ve spoken to men and families, men in prison, and men’s organizations.”   Freeman, who works in partnership with Nix at the organization Project Manhood using a curriculum and program that assists faith based organizations, schools and churches to reach and develop at-risk boys into responsible, educated, employed and self-sufficient young men, adds, “we felt it was necessary to develop this book and material for fathers as we continue to work with people on matters of fatherhood. No one really teaches fathers how to be good fathers early enough.”

A Father for Life gives all the key concepts related to becoming an effective father.  It provides detailed analysis on six “C’s,” identified as Copying, Communication, Closeness, Coaching, Co-Parenting and Commitment.  It is one of a total of eight books authored by Freeman, including Investing in Our African-American Youth: Can You Handle It? Revised Edition and the relationship books, Your Choice is Your Trouble: Moving on After the Choices You’ve Made and What Men Want: The 30 Top Things Men Want from Women.  What Men Want will also be released on December 14.

A Father for Life, consisting of 140-plus pages, is priced at $24.95.  To purchase or for more information, visit http://www.projectmanhood.com.  To contact Darrell V.
