| Dunhurst U13 Win Football TournamentDunhurst, Bedales Junior School, hosted a six-a-side football competition for eight teams on Wednesday 23 November and emerged as event winners.
By: Bedales Schools Undoubtedly the best side in the competition, the hosts did very well in the pool stages going through as top of their group. In the semi final, Dunhurst beat Haslemere Prep following a well-taken goal by Tom Reynolds in extra time. In the final Dunhurst faced Frensham Heights. With neither team scoring after extra time, the game went to penalties. A stunning save on the first Frensham penalty by the Dunhurst goal keeper, Taye Ashby-Hammond, was followed by two unstoppable strikes by Dunhurst and a further miss by Frensham which gave the hosts the match and the tournament. Dunhurst Deputy Head and team coach Alan Simmons said: “The boys thoroughly deserved their win. Their attitude was exemplary and it was a great afternoon, not just for the Dunhurst team but for all of the 70 boys involved in the competition.” The winning Dunhurst team comprised: Taye Ashby-Hammond, Luca Caruso, Felix Delano, Milo Howes, Tom Reynolds, Theo Walsh and Barney Watney.
