Since 1990, Rock Angel has been collecting and distributing holiday toys to thousands of needy children and children affected by HIV/AIDS. In past years, Rock Angel Toy Drives have been held in 6 cities at such prestigious locations as the House of Blues (Boston), Axis (Boston), Coconut Teaser (L.A.), The Bank (NYC) and clubs in Las Vegas and Washington DC.
This year Rock Angel is proud to have three of Orange County’s best and most unique bands play the 2011 Rock Angel Toy Drive at the famous Doll Hut. A new, unwrapped toy is your ticket in to see Green ToDay, Head Cheese and the Worms.
The Doll Hut is the O.C. equivalent of CBGB. The nearly 100- year-old wooden bar room sits in a warehouse district of Anaheim. Originally built in the early 1900's as a private residence it became a truck stop cafe in 1936 it was also rumored to be used as a brothel house for a time in the 1950's. In 1957 the Doll Hut became a live music venue. It was made world famous when it was purchased by promoter Linda Jemison in the late 1980's.
The 2011 Rock Angel Toy Drive features Green ToDay, Head Cheese and The Worms.
On stage, the members of Green ToDay genuinely project an appreciation and enthusiasm for Green Day that is contagious and will surely infect all who are in attendance. With a span of over 20 years of hit music from Green Day, generations of fans will appreciate the sounds and experiences that come alive as presented by Green ToDay.
Toys will be distributed to children in need by Caring Strokes and South Central LAMP.
