Community Holiday Party Planned to Say "Thank You!"

Dec. 5, 2011 - PRLog -- A community holiday party is scheduled for this Friday, December 9th, as a way of saying thank you to those who’ve donated toys for children in the Wyoming County Area.  This is year marks a decade of thank-you gatherings planned by Dr. Paul and Diana Herbener of Tunkhannock.   Beginning at 7 in the evening, guests will be treated to an array of delicious specialties prepared by Twig’s Restaurant as well as beverages supplied by B&R Distributors.   Once again this year, the party will be held in the Chiropractic and Rehab Associates building by Riverside Park (River Street) in Tunkhannock.  Guests are asked to bring a new un-wrapped toy to be donated to Interfaith Friends.
Over the past few weeks Dr. and Mrs. Herbener have distributed boxes to area businesses to help collect toys throughout the region.  Those boxes will remain in place through the week.  Locations include Frank Sorokach/State Farm Insurance, the Nimble Hill Wine Tasting Room, Gay’s True Value, RG Salon, First National Community Bank, High Energy Fitness & Karate, Lech’s Pharmacy, B&R Distributors, as well as Tunkhannock High School, Roslund & Mehoopany Elementary Schools.
It has been an especially trying year for area families with the flooding that hit the Wyoming County region.  Many who have not sought help in the past are now in need.  You can make it a merrier Christmas for children who may have possibly lost their homes and many of their possessions. Toys from infant through teen are requested. Other welcome donations include gift cards, teen-friendly jewelry/accessories, books, perfumes, and colognes.
Dr. and Mrs. Herbener appreciate the assistance of neighbors and friends in the community with their efforts to make it a happier holiday for others.  The annual community holiday party is just one way they express their thanks; those who have dropped off donation at the Chiropractic and Rehab Associates Office in Tunkhannock have been treated to complimentary chiropractic visits by Dr. Herbener and associate Dr. Brian Massamini.
