Follow on Google News | Bridgeport Village Announces Charity Shopping EventBridgeport Village, Portland’s premier shopping and dining destination announces the return of its annual charity-shopping event. Making Spirits Bright will take place December 10 and 11.
By: SportsOne Bridgeport Village shoppers are invited to shop for charity and purchase a $10 bracelet at the gazebo in center court. Bracelet purchases include exclusive discounts at participating Bridgeport Village retailers and 100% of proceeds will benefit featured non-profits, Candlelighters for Children with Cancer and Project Pooch. Shoppers will choose which non-profit organization their bracelet purchase will benefit. “Making Spirits Bright is such an important event for Bridgeport Village. It’s an opportunity to partner with our customers and support our community during the holidays,” said Fred Bruning, CEO of CenterCal Properties, owners of Bridgeport Village. Established in Oregon in 1977, Candlelighters for Children with Cancer provides support, education, advocacy and hope to families with children battling cancer. The December 10 Breakfast with Santa will benefit Candlelighters and the thousands of family served. Project Pooch, the organization befitting from the December 17 Breakfast with Santa, provides opportunities for youth in corrections to develop personal and vocational skills through caring for and training shelter dogs for adoption. The program not only helps rehabilitate ready youth to become responsible, productive community members, but also saves the lives of hundreds of dogs. Bridgeport Village is open Saturday, December 10 from 10 a.m. – 9 p.m. and Sunday, December 11 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Other Bridgeport Village Holiday Attractions All Aboard The Bridgeport Express Holiday shoppers will be invited to climb aboard the 35-passenger, solar-operated holiday train and ride it to their destinations in Bridgeport Village. The Bridgeport Express is a 40-foot-long trackless passenger train with four-foot wide cars to accommodate children and adults. Rides are free and available for riders of all ages. Daily: through Thursday, December 22 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. and 3 – 5 p.m. Photos with Santa Children are invited to visit Santa in his new home, built by the Home Builders Association Professional Remodelers Organization in center court. In addition to posing for holiday photos, Santa will give away candy canes and coloring books.
