ShortsHD Decks the Halls with Exclusive Short Movies and New Programs in December

From Celebrity-Fueled Holiday Films and Exclusive Vintage Offerings to New Programming, ShortsHD Heats up for the Start of Winter
Dec. 5, 2011 - PRLog -- ShortsHD, the only TV network dedicated exclusively to short movies, heats up in December with new original programs, a handful of star-studded premieres, exclusive vintage offerings, behind the scenes footage from the Oscars and Cannes, and Christmas-themed shorts that add an artistic twist to the holidays.

ShortsHD will bring a new show to the network in December with the premiere of the Shorts Top 10.  Shorts Top 10 is a new weekly countdown show that will feature the ten best short movies for a theme as presented by actors Nell Mooney and Tony Denman.  From the best in festival films to the dark side of the holidays, the new show will bring its audience commentary and context before and after screening all ten films selected for that week.

Featuring exclusive short movies from the prestigious British Film Institute and National Film Board Of Canada catalogues, Real Stories Vintage  is a new programming block that brings viewers some of the best short movies stretching from the 1940’s to the 1980’s.  With new premieres at 1pm and 5pm EST on the weekends and re-airs during the week, Real Stories Vintage brings viewers some of the finest short films ever made.

From Dec. 18th -23rd, short movie fans will be treated to a wide selection of holiday themed films. Ranging in genre from traditional to avant-garde, ShortsHD will roll out dozens of holiday movies every evening beginning Dec. 8th at 11:30pm EST/8:30pm PST.

Jim Belushi and Tim Curry will bring sparkle to the holiday season with the US premiere of the animated short movie, Once Upon a Christmas Village. Airing Dec. 19th at 11pm EST/8pm PST and again throughout the month, the animated film tells the tale of a tiny village that comes to life under a Christmas tree.

To contrast the holiday cheer, ShortsHD will premiere a black comedy about power, lies and corruption with The Man Who Married Himself, starring Richard E. Grant, whose character responds to a mid-life crisis by getting married to himself.

ShortsHD will continue its production of Festival Road Trip in December with inside stories and profiles of some of the best up and coming filmmakers from Cannes and the 2011 Oscars. Premiering Dec. 8th at 10:30pm EST and re-airing throughout the month, Festival Road Trip continues to provide exclusive access into the short film industry.

Every Sunday at 8pm EST, ShortsHD viewers can see a natural history of the future in full animation on The Future is Wild, an ongoing series that explores what the world will look like 5, 100 and 200 million years into the future.
