By: Potenza Performance Challenge Dec. 5, 2011 - PRLog -- Organizers of the Potenza Performance Challenge 2011 have confirmed this weekend’s line up of motoring activities as the UAE’s automotive and bike enthusiast community prepare to descend on the Dubai Autodrome on 9 & 10 December 2011. Presented by Bridgestone Middle East & Africa, the two-day motoring festival promises hands-on driving activities and shows like no other seen at traditional motoring events in the UAE.
“This event was created to bring together car and bike lovers from all over the country to enjoy a weekend of exciting motoring activities and performance shows that truly thrill while allowing the public, not professional racers, to engage in competitive driving challenges to win a new VW Scirocco,” said Sherif El Gamrawy, managing director of Frogs, the event organizer. “Besides the challenges, we wanted event goers to also get a chance to experience on-track action so we are giving away loads of hands-on driving and passenger experiences throughout both days. On top of that, we have a custom car and bike show, XBOX driving challenges and a stunt bike show with multiple riders performing daring moves together in sync.” Driving experiences being given away at the event include the Potenza Driving Lessons (PDL) which will be conducted throughout both days of the event and under the direction of international racing champion and former F1 driver, Stefano Modena, who is arriving in the UAE this week to lead the lessons. “The Potenza Driving Lesson is an intensive two and a half hour course that provides drivers with the basic knowledge and understanding of correct driving procedures,” http://www.youtube.com/ The organizers have also teamed up with AUH Motorsport, a UAE – based motorsport company, to offer the public a chance to experience what it feels like to ride in a real racing car on a closed circuit. Using its twin-seat Radical SR3 Supersport race cars, AUH Motorsports will give passengers an experience of a lifetime as they are hurled around a short circuit at maximum speed by a professional race car driver! SSK Racing, a UAE based race organizer and founder of the UAE Drift Competition, will be showing off the skills and driving techniques of some of the UAE’s top drift drivers who lead in this immensely popular type of motorsport and one of the fastest growing driving competitions in the world.
