Dec. 1, 2011 - PRLog -- RCC Institute of Technology is pleased to announce that The Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities in Ontario has approved RCC Institute of Technology’s Electronics Technician diploma. The program will be delivered in-class at the School of Engineering Technology & Computing.

The 1-year Electronics Technician diploma will immediately begin enrolling for its first class, which is scheduled to start in April 2012. With technology developing at an unparalleled speed, highly adaptive electronics technicians have many exciting and productive career opportunities available to them in a variety of diverse fields. In only one year of intensive study, this program is a fast track for graduates seeking employment as technicians in a variety of sectors including telecommunications, alternative energy, manufacturing (automotive, shipbuilding), robotics and more.

The strengths of the program include:
1.   1 year duration: The intensive program delivered in 12 months, allows students to learn the skills they need to enter the workforce in an area of specialization of their choice. This program is equivalent to a 2-year program at other colleges.
2.   Hands-on focus: The purpose of the program is to teach students how to be Electronics Technicians, which are in high demand in various industries. The program is extremely practical and emphasizes lab time. This approach produces graduates who are immediately recognized by employers for their practical skills and problem solving abilities.
3.   The program is not a pre-technology program. Graduates will have the skills to become Electronics Technicians after successful completion of the program.
4.   Pathways to higher study: Graduates who so choose have the opportunity to continue in their studies to a Bachelor and Master level. The program is one of the most efficient pathways to higher education in Canada. At any stage of this pathway, students are able to graduate and start rewarding careers in electronics technology.
5.   Highly qualified faculty: Unlike many diploma programs, faculty who teach the program are qualified to teach at the Bachelors level with most instructors holding a PhD or Masters in their area of expertise.
