-- ATLANTA – The newly expanded Construction Resources Slab Gallery features a green products section to make your green project easier than ever to complete. The gallery, located at 224 Rio Circle in Decatur, is Georgia’s largest indoor slab gallery featuring 20,000 square feet of products. This is an easy one stop shop for remodelers, decorators, homeowners and builders looking for green products.
“Our indoor Slab Gallery allows designers, consumers and remodelers alike to pick out the perfect countertop for their project,” said Mitch Hires, co-owner of Construction Resources. “With our focus on green products, they can rest assured that they are choosing products that are environmentally friendly.”
Cambria is the only quartz surface produced in the U.S. This results in lower transportation requirements than quartz produced in the Middle East, Europe or Asia. As part of the “best practices” used in manufacturing the quartz surface, Cambria recycles and recovers much of the water used in its production processes through unique settling and filtering techniques. Additionally, Construction Resources / Atlanta Kitchen also recycles the water used to fabricate the material into countertops. All these practices result in a conscious effort to improve the impact of manufacturing on the environment.
Cambria’s accolades and certifications are abundant including: GREENGARD for Children & Schools certified, and GREENGARD Indoor Air Quality certified. It contributes to projects achieving LEED points. Cambria is radon free, and it is certified by the NSF International as safe for use as a food preparation surface.
Vetrazzo believes that a green product should do more than just recycle used materials or avoid release of dangerous airborne toxins — it should solve an environmental problem. Vetrazzo does this by creating a market for waste glass that cannot be recycled into other products. Each countertop panel is made from 550 pounds of crushed recycled glass from traffic lights, windshields, and beverage bottles. In 2007, Vetrazzo transformed over 250 tons of
recycled glass — including 125 tons of waste glass not recyclable elsewhere — into beautiful, functional surface products.
Construction Resources stocks more than 3,000 slabs and 2,000 remnants at its indoor slab gallery and outdoor slab yard. This allows customers to pick materials from on-site inventory and participate in the slab layout process by placing templates or digitized drawings on slab surfaces prior to fabrication. As a result, customers who select an on-site slab enjoy quicker lead times and installed prices at this one-stop-shop for kitchen and bath needs.
