By: Global Test Driver, Inc What we can see here is very much like the last concept version, the FT-86 II. Traditional 2+2 shape and lines are present with a definitive RWD flow. You can see LED daytime running lights and an interesting 2-set fog light setup up front. In the rear are JDM LED taillights and large JDM dual exhaust. Shown in the pictures and video are what appear to be a relatively low level GT-86 with 17 or 18” wheels and only modestly aggressive body work. This because at first the car will be launched only with a 197 hp 2.0L Boxer-4 from Subaru that has been tweaked for the extra output with Toyotas DRS direct and port injection. Expect more info on pricing, options, features, and additional power plants the Toyota debut and North American, Scion FR-S debut, draw nearer. For now we expect pricing to begin somewhere just north of $20,000. Following suit, Subaru unveiled their production version of the collaborative sports car yesterday. The Subaru BR-Z (white car in photos) is mechanically identical to the Toyota version and virtually cosmetically identical as well. Differences in the front and rear fascia help to tell them apart. Look for both to be released in the coming months.
