Sonic Edge announced today the introduction of two new guitar effect pedals, the Fluffer and the FXUL8R.

Sonic Edge’s Fluffer pedal is a unique isolation pedal board buffer, recommended for any player who uses multiple pedals in their setup.  The Fluffer reduces the loading effect caused by stacking multiple FX pedals between a guitar and an amplifier.  This unwanted loading effect causes loss of signal, high-end frequency reduction and an overall unpleasant “muddy” sound that negatively impacts a player’s tone. “The Fluffer is a simple add-on and a must for today’s players, especially those that strive to retain their natural tone, while utilizing multiple effects”, says Ben Fargen, Co-Founder of Sonic Edge. “We’re excited to launch our third pedal in the Sonic Edge line.”

The FXUL8R is an exciting new way to add studio quality FX to any amplifier without the need for a built-in FX loop.  It advances the concept of a wet/dry FX rig, providing three options when feeding a tube amp’s signal into it: a JFET-buffered direct out, a full-featured mic preamp, and a blend of the two, before feeding an FX chain or a signal out to another slave amp.  “The FXUL8R offers endless possibilities in achieving studio quality FX through a live, studio or home guitar or bass rig”, says Fargen.  Sonic Edge is currently taking preorders on a limited run, which will ship by March 2012.

Ben Fargen launched Sonic Edge in March 2010, to focus on manufacturing best-in-class guitar and bass effects pedals. Ben is founder and CEO of Fargen Amplification, founded in 1998, which has become a thriving boutique company that ships custom-built amplifiers to discerning players on four continents.  Ben has developed a reputation as one of the top engineers and visionaries in the amplifier space.  He also provides world tour and studio amp support to many of the world’s most celebrated guitarists including Joe Satriani and Steve Vai, and in fact, designed Steve’s Legacy II amplifier that was launched by Carvin in January 2009.
