Deadline extended for firms to nominate stars of uniform industry
The deadline for nominations for the first Professional Clothing Awards has been extended to December 12, giving the workwear, corporate clothing and PPE industry just over two weeks to ensure the hard work over the past 12 months is recognised.
The Professional Clothing Awards, which takes place on April 17 2012 as part of the fifth annual Workwear and Corporate Clothing Show, sponsored by JAL Group, will celebrate the very best of the industry and its people, at the Ricoh Arena, Coventry.
Manufacturers, buyers and suppliers in workwear and PPE will be awarded across a range of categories and this exciting new event will combine the show’s prestigious Business Manager Awards with new supplier awards – as well as the SATRA PPE Innovation Awards.
Nominations are still open across the categories which will take in the whole working garment industry – from products, components and materials to full uniforms and processes – and entries will be judged on their practical benefits to the user, the supply chain and the environment.
Workwear and Corporate Clothing Show managing director Yvette Ashby said: “We are very excited about the quality of nominees we expect to see at the award ceremony in April, because we know ourselves just how dedicated the people in our industry are to creating the very best product for the market.
“With just two weeks to go before the deadline, it is vital that our industry takes this opportunity to put forward nominations and celebrates the fantastic work that has been taking place over the past year.
“Whether they manufacture fibres and fabrics, supply stock garments or distribute footwear, all businesses in the workwear, corporate clothing and PPE industry will now have the chance to be recognised for their important work, but must ensure they make their nominations for this very special event by December 12.”
Tickets to the award ceremony on April 17, 2012 at the Ricoh Arena, Coventry, are now on sale and can be purchased via www.professionalclothingawards.com or directly from organisers the Workwear and Corporate Clothing Show.
The Professional Clothing Awards will incorporate the Business Manager Awards categories for ‘Business Manager of the Year’ and ‘Best Uniform in Corporate Clothing, Workwear and PPE’. The event will also introduce a number of new awards for suppliers, ranging from ‘Best Fibre and Fabric Innovation’ and ‘Best Website’ to ‘Best Managed Major Contract’ and ‘Best Managed Boutique Contract’.
In addition, to reflect the major growth market of personal protective equipment (PPE), the Professional Clothing Awards will contain the brand new SATRA PPE Innovation awards. These awards will recognise the manufacturers of PPE products, components and processes that push boundaries in technical innovation.
World- leading research and technology organisation (RTO) SATRA is the ideal partner to head up this special section.
The company’s CEO Austin Simmons said: “SATRA is accredited as a Notified Body under the European PPE Directive for EC Type examination and certification, final product quality control and quality of production for most types of PPE including safety footwear, clothing, gloves, and head, fall and eye protection. SATRA’s technical teams have a wealth of knowledge and expertise so they know how to get it right first time when it comes to research, testing and certification.
“SATRA’s brand is recognised and respected in over 70 countries and we look forward to working with SATRA on these exciting new awards, which we are opening up to international businesses from all over the world.”
Entries will be judged by a panel of independent experts in January 2012 with the winners of the Professional Clothing Awards announced at a spectacular gala dinner and dance at the Workwear and Corporate Clothing Show on 17th April 2012, at the E.ON Lounge in Coventry’s Ricoh Arena.
The winners will be presented with glittering crystal trophies and the overall winner of the SATRA PPE Innovation of the Year will also receive the opportunity to undertake discounted research and product testing at SATRA Technology Centre, or the possibility of creating a partnership to develop a product or products for commercial exploitation.
