New harp music CD for healing and meditation

Nov. 28, 2011 - PRLog -- Chicago-based harpist, Mark Brewer, announces the release of a new meditation CD featuring solo harp improvisations. Brewer, the album's sole performer, says that "Power Chill" adds a missing element to the meditation and relaxation music landscape by using the natural sound of the harp recorded during a live meditation session.

Brewer describes "Power Chill" as a relaxing sonic journey that can bring peace and tranquility peoples' lives. He says, "Music, healing and spirituality are connected. Music can restore harmony, and live harp music is the most effective sound healing medium. Sound healing is an ancient practice and humanity is now reclaiming this heritage," especially since music was proven successful in treating veterans suffering from posttraumatic stress disorder.

Power Chill is recommended for personal and group meditation, for massage therapists, spas, and to bring peace and harmony into any environment, such as the home, office or car.

Brewer explains that the harp's natural materials create a more organic and healing sound that other instruments, particularly synthesizers, can't mimic. He says that the harp's natural sound will help open a person's energy field for a more deeply effective experience. He says, "By opening yourself to these vibrations, your body, mind and spirit 'entrain' or become resonant and synchronous with powerful healing energies."

Brewer performed the improvisations live during a meditation session held specifically to record this album. The intention was to bring the energies of love and healing into the music while it was being played. Brewer says, "You simply cannot accomplish anything like this using artificial instruments and sterile studio productions."

Brewer leads harp meditations in the Chicago area and used his experience with live meditations to create this album.
