Nov. 28, 2011 - PRLog -- It is rare in these days of careless mass-production to find a brand that’s rich in value and history. Grenson is one of these select few. The company that is now known as Grenson Shoes started as a one man operation, in Northamptonshire during the 1860s. William Green grew up learning the craft of shoe-making from his mother who worked from home after William’s father passed away, earning a living by making men’s boots. When he became a young man he moved out and continued the trade. At the time shoemaking was still a cottage business and he worked solely in a local capacity, but his ambitions would soon take him further.

Over the next few decades Green would continue to grow his business, expanding to sales in London by traveling back and forth and then on to wholesalers throughout the UK. His boots and shoes quickly grew in their reputation for perfect craftsmanship and excellent durability. Even after his death in 1901, the brand continued to strengthen and keep up with increasing demand. Ten years after Green’s death the Grenson brand was officially registered, it is one of the oldest brands in the UK and needless to say, one of the best.

When you buy Grenson shoes you’re truly getting a piece of history along with excellent quality. Every Grenson shoe uses a process known as “Goodyear Welting” which takes more production time but ensures quality and makes the shoes able to be re-soled so you can virtually own them for a lifetime. The company realizes the value in what it offers to customers and prefers taking pride in a great product over turning a quick profit. They are true believers in their work and after trying these shoes, you will be too.

A great example is the Grenson Archie, though you may have trouble finding it as it seems to be selling out everywhere this Winter. With buttery smooth, embossed leather, a durable rubber vibram sole and Goodyear Welted construction this handsome, modern shoe can be dressed up or down to fit any style. Some reviews go so far as to say it comes with a “handsomeness guarantee”.

For something a bit more classic, you may want to take a look at the Grenson Stanley. The tan, waxed leather and deep brown sole look suave and polished with a nice trouser or can easily dress up the look of a casual jean.

If you want a stand-out, really dynamic addition to your wardrobe, try searching for Grenson Stanley Brogues shoes. This design comes with a leather upper with detailed stitching and perforated trim. They neatly lace up the front and have superbly made grip soles for wet weather wear. This design, which can be worn with chinos or jeans year-round is the cream of the crop for Grenson  leather shoes.

They also recently created a lighter version of the Stanley Brogue, with chocolate brown nubuck uppers and a red micro sole that makes for a lightweight, casual take on the more classic style.

If you make an investment in Grenson Shoes you’ll never regret it. These shoes will still be in style when you’re sitting on a porch in a rocking chair with gray hair. The craftsmanship ensures that you can wear them for years and when they start to show signs of wear, have them resoled and you’re good to go for another decade or two. Talk about shoes you can live in, this brand is as good as it gets. Vist http://www.urbanexcess.com/c-1471-grenson-shoes.aspx for more details.
