The Beachcomber Expands With New Intensive Outpatient Treatment Offices

Nov. 28, 2011 - PRLog -- Delray Beach, FL -- The Beachcomber Family Center for Addiction Recovery announced today the opening of Intensive Outpatient treatment offices in nearby Boynton Beach.  The Beachcomber, a sixteen bed facility in Delray Beach was founded in 1976 by James Bryan.  It is the oldest privately-owned, continuously operated treatment center in the state of Florida.  

Joe Bryan, son of the founder, and Director for the past twenty years, stated that “we are excited about our first expansion because we believe the timing is right as we will now be able to offer a seamless line of service to our clients, from residential treatment through outpatient treatment while they re-establish their positions in the community, at work, and with their families”.  

Jim Bryan, who operates the Beachcomber with his brother, stated that “our long held, solid reputation makes it a natural for us as we take the next step in helping our clients to once again be productive members of society”.  Additionally, Joe Bryan stated, “this will allow us to work with clients who have completed the Beachcomber’s residential treatment to ensure they are using recovery tools they’ve learned during their 28-day stay”.  Finally, Jim stated, “our new offices will also be available to those who have not been to our residential treatment who cannot leave their work for the four week period that residential treatment requires”.  The offices are slated to open at the beginning of 2012.

The Bryans have announced that Tony Foster, a therapist and “graduate” of the Beachcomber’s residential program, will head the program as Director of Therapy.  He stated, “I am excited and honored to have been asked to head this historic expansion for the Beachcomber.  It is a magical place that creates miracles in people’s lives as it has for me”.  Mr. Foster holds dual Master’s degrees specializing in Mental Health and Rehab Counseling and is currently working on his doctorate degree at Florida Atlantic University.
