Born from a passion for home decorating and shopping, The Seven Drawers’ décor-focused boutique adds a breath of fresh air to the Edmonton marketplace serviced largely by generic, high volume mega stores and mall shops.

“And in a city saturated with mega stores and malls, there are not many places to shop for unique furniture and decor items in comfortable, boutique setting assisted by passionate, informed décor artists,” she added. “We don’t just want to sell people quality furniture at a good price, we want to help them find the perfect items to accent their homes.”

With over two decades spent buying and selling furniture, decorating and styling homes, Braaksma has forged relationships with a select range of vendors known for producing top quality, unique and fashion-forward designs. Items that stray far from the standard fair found in Edmonton’s mega furniture shops and discount retailers.

The Seven Drawers’ warm and cozy showroom was created to provide a perfect setting for customers to get into a creative headspace for home decorating. So when it came to selecting inventory and styling for The Seven Drawers’ modest retail space, Braaksma had to be incredibly discriminating. Not wanting to pigeonhole the store as catering to only one or two particular styles or being too diverse, she opted for an overall look and feel to showcase her own understanding of how decor items work within an entire setting.  

“Whether it’s items on display in our showroom or available from our online catalogs, our goal is to help customers find furnishing that either define their personal style of home décor or accent the living space they have already created,” said Braaksma.
